The Olde Distillery

Overview

The Olde Distillery took its name from the use the building had in the old times when it served as the space where grapes were stomped in a wine press and their juices were then distilled (within the same building) to produce Tinos’ celebrated traditional alcoholic drink: raki. The old spring, at the entrance of this stone-built accommodation of our hotel, supplied the water that the distillation process necessitated.

The Olde Distillery [Paleo Rakizio/Paleó Rakizió] (57 m2) is a two-storey building. Its ground floor comprises a sitting room complete with fireplace, a dining room, a fully-equipped kitchen, a small, guest WC, and an open air, Cycladic courtyard (9 m2). The sitting room on the lower floor has a sofa/bed which can accommodate two additional guests. On the upper floor, there are a bedroom with a double bed, and two bedrooms, each with a single bed, a bathroom with a shower and the necessary accessories and toiletries. There is also a veranda (12 m2) overlooking the Aegean Sea, the island of Delos, and the Monastery of Aghia Pelagia.
